Note 1/A:

Progress ...

Its ingredients, its nature, and what it is supposed to amount to. It's shaped by our perception and judged against our ever-changing expectations, measured with the absurdity of reality. It is fundamentally driven by the passage of time, moving us horizontally to the right, constantly but not consistently, across the timeline and away from our present.

What we want? What we think we want? laws of physics? Our own doubts and fears? it's a concoction, a regression; the outcome is barley in our hands.

Note 2/B:

Where does it fit?

What is "contemporary"? The intersection between practice and era? A construct of context and culture? The lust towards the aesthetic? Questioning the norm, examining the interesting? Or complying and conforming? Why do we have the need to contextualize, define and prescribe? -what would happen if we don't!

Note 3/C:

An outcome; if any.

Ultimately, there comes a point where things stop. The progress stops, we look at what has been done. Suddenly, it takes on a new life, a life of being observed, used and judged. What we think it/claim it to be doesn't necessarily hold true anymore, because with every observation, it is filtered, selectively fragmented and thus, augmented.

Is what we call an outcome then, a mere temporary re-arrangement of the existing condition?
